Here is a post we deemed vital to share here in The CiTy today.
Marriage is a crucial part of our lives and usually comes with permutations that could make us sweat, especially at the part we prepare to cross into it.
Nathaniel Bassey, a revered worship minister, shared his mind with singles here and we thought it apt to bring you up on it...
WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU MEET A PROSPECTIVE SPOUSE BY NATHANIEL BASSEY
"My dear brothers and sisters in Christ ( yet to be married)
Let me share something with you.
When you meet a brother or sister, and you are interested in a relationship that would lead to marriage, the best time to pray and seek God's face is that very early stage, when you are able to pray objectively without sentiments and attachments. Don't start going out, spending time, calling each other at nights , having dates, lunch and dinner etc, then wake up after 3 years to pray if it's God's will or not. Most time the voice or voices you would hear would be that of your emotions. Even when God is speaking, you may bind him, saying, "Satan is a liar".
And by the way, we were having a series in our youth church on THE WILL OF GOD. And I remember telling my people that after the series and prayers somethings will shift in their lives. And I prepared them, using marriage and relationships as examples, as well as other aspects of life.
As we began praying and asking God to have his way and establish his will in our lives, some of my wonderful ladies in church began telling stories of how brothers who had been chasing them, talking marriage and "so in love" suddenly started disappearing. In fact some shared how they were so hurt, and seemly wanted God's intervention. But I told them God just honored them by answering their prayers.
Beloved, there's nothing soothing and peaceful as walking in God's perfect will for your life. Pray and wait for it, it will surely manifest. And when it comes, you'll be glad you did."
